Steinback is one of the famous names in German nutcrackers. They have been in business for many years and are still active. In fact, they have taken a lesson from Hummel and some of the other collectibles manufacturers and produce nutcrackers in series, with certificate of authenticity. Of course the prices are in keeping with their exclusivity and rarity.
Most of the Steinbach nutcrackers which you will see for sale will be new, in the box, and in perfect condition.
Our experience has been that Americans don't value nutcrackers as much as Germans, so prices from American sellers will be lower. Between the shipping charges from Europe, the rise of the Euro, and the value given to them, we have had very little luck buying from German sellers.

Hello,
I started buying Steinbeck nutcrackers in the early eighties. I gave some as gifts, but still have a few in good to excellent condition. I paid a lot of money for them and bought them from a retail nutcracker shop in Leavenworth, WA. Is there a place where I can find their current value, as I would like to sell them if possible.
Thank you for your assistance.
Barbara
These days I think Ebay makes the market. If you register there you can look up completed auctions. I would suggest you spend some time trying to find completed sales of nutcrackers that are close matches to yours. You will need to read the item descriptions to make sure there aren’t condition issues that would make yours more/less valuable than the sold items.
The Christmas season is a good time to be doing this because the market is especially active, with more sellers and buyers, than at other times of the year.
Hi,
I have some Steinbach nutcrackers for which I don’t have the box. Do you know somewhere I can purchase the empty boxes?
Thanks,
Dale
I have no idea.
